In back of the Complex 13 Mobile Service Tower

This is the north end of Complex 13. The concrete channel leads to the deluge collection pond. During some launch operations, water was sprayed on the pad both for cooling purposes and to absorb the acoustic energy generated by the launch. Excess water was collected in the pond.

The two short concrete walls you see to either side are the channel support rails. The MST would roll on these rails away from the launch stand prior to a launch.
