The gentleman pictured above is Jerry Tritto. Jerry was a propulsion engineer
with the Vanguard program. With the end of the Vanguard project, Jerry went on
to apply his considerable expertise on several other spaceflight programs
(including Delta and Titan) until his retirement. Both the author and the
photographer wish to express their gratitude for Jerry's assistance with
our many questions regarding Complex 18 and the Vanguard program, and also for
his service to the U.S. and its space programs.
