Complex 18, Pad A |

We are at Complex 18, Pad A looking back toward the blockhouse. The darkened
spot on the ground directly ahead of us is the former position of the Vanguard
launch stand. Beyond that, we see the pylon for the deluge system. The umbilical
tower used to be just on our side of the equipment house (whose wall we see at
the right of the photo, behind the stacked concrete poles). The rails we see to
either side were for a mobile weather cover used for Blue Scout Junior rockets; the Vanguard
Mobile Service Tower
rails extended toward the left of the photo.
